22/09/2008 - Warranty news: Samsung laptop is 'ultra-mobile'
South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung has added to the growing number of mini laptops on the market with a new model.
The Samsung NC10 is a lightweight ultra-portable notebook that the Inquirer states could go head to head with competitors such as Asus' Eee PC.
It is noted that the "hip" laptop, which will be available in the UK in October with an estimated price tag of £429, will feature a ten-inch screen with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and either 80 or 160GB of storage on board.
In addition to this, the notebook will come equipped with a built-in 1.3-megapixel integrated webcam and a three-in-one memory card reader, allowing easy access to images stored on digital cameras, among other things.
"It also sports a hardened shell that should take some whacks and still look brilliant at the end of the day," the article concludes.
However, Samsung is likely to have its work cut out for it, as the Asus Eee PC was recently awarded the title of Gadget Of The Year by Stuff magazine.
