08/07/2009 - TV warranty shoppers offered a new HD trio
This week sees a number of high definition (HD) Blu-ray releases that consumers with compatible players and LCD TVs or plasma screens may be interested in. First of all, Clive Owen and Naomi Watts star in The International which tells the story of how a global financial group is found to be using its power and influence in supporting illegal activity. Next up, a biopic of sorts that combines innovative cinematography and art direction with strong violence to tell the story of a man considered by many to be Britain's most dangerous inmate - Tom Hardy takes the title role in Bronson. A recent review for the Rattle suggested the movie offered "vibrant filmmaking from a director and an actor to watch". Finally, with a host of Oscar nominations at this year's awards ceremony, Doubt comes to Sony's HD format and stars Meryl Streep, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams. Those shopping for a new screen to partner their Blu-ray player may wish to consider a TV warranty to protect their investment.
