Cost effective heating systems

Central heating is essential during our bitterly cold winters and insulating your house is vitally important, but what options are available to you? Where do you start trying to find the right set up for your house? How do you know that it will work?
Here is a list of a couple of heating techniques and technologies to help make your decision a little easier, because we know how overwhelming it can be when you are suddenly presented with a whole host of options.
Under floor heating
One of the more cost (and energy) efficient ways of heating any building, it is perfectly suited to use alongside other energy efficient heat sources that include ground source heat pumps. It is very quick and easy to install, requires very little maintenance and is known for providing even warmth as opposed to radiators that may leave your home with some cold patches in it.
Solar Heating
Solar panels are the ultimate in providing eco-friendly energy. Using them with a Solar Hot Water Cylinder could give you around half your hot water needs, putting less strain on your boiler and cutting your fuel bills down to size.
Heating Protection
These are only two great ways to save some cash (and the planet) whilst keeping warm during the cold winter months. If you do install any heating system though, it is highly recommended that you see what Domestic & General have to offer in the way of boiler protection or central heating protection.
