16/01/2007 - News from the home of washing machine insurance: Water conserving washing machine introduced
Sanyo has unveiled a washing machine which can recycle water and which gives users the choice of "air washing" their garments, it has been reported.
Dubbed the Aqua, the washing machine was introduced at the recent consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, reports Yahoo! Tech.
The machine uses a device called an Aqualoop, which recycles water to be used in future washes.
Capable of saving around 50 litres of water a day, the Aqua is a conservationist's dream machine.
And the Air Wash capability enables users to dry clean items of clothes that are too delicate for conventional washing.
Air Wash uses odour and bacteria-killing chemicals to infuse the clothes and oust any smells of pets or smoke.
The drum on the Aqua has been conveniently placed higher than in most machines, for easier accessibility by the user.
Meanwhile, electrical appliance giant Electrolux has recently unveiled the first talking washing machine, which tells users how to operate the appliance.
Dubbed Communication, the washing machine takes the mystery out of today's appliance's myriad of spin cycles, washes, rinses and special functions.
Domestic & General is the UK's leading provider of extended warranty and breakdown insurance for domestic appliances and boilers.
