Boiler misery highlights the winter blues

A young family from Staffordshire hove spoken of their misery at having to live without a fully-functioning heating system.

In news which may prompt consumers to ensure their boiler is properly covered with an extended warranty, Laura Bull and Ian Nixon have told local newspaper the Sentinel of the problems they have recently faced.

The article states that the couple, along with their two-year-old daughter Cerys, have had to get by without central heating for three months - thanks to a faulty boiler.

It adds that having waited to get the problem repaired they are now having to heat their home with electric heaters - which is setting them back around £15 per day.

"Using the electric heater was costing a fortune. It was really upsetting and it got me down to come home from work to a freezing house. I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning, it was so cold," said Ms Bull.

It is hoped that work will be carried out soon on the broken system, however, the news serves as a warning to many that ensuring you are covered against a faulty boiler can be a good idea.
