The McDowells from Bury in Lancashire have been customers of Domestic & General for some years. Husband Stuart, who works for a paint company, is great at domestic decorating jobs and comes thoroughly recommended by his wife, Gina. Unfortunately when it came to giving their own kitchen a facelift, things didn’t go so smoothly for Stuart...
“He can be described as well built for his height,” explains Gina of her husband, who was standing on the work surface attempting to decorate above the cupboards on the fateful day in question. “He overbalanced and his boot hovered over my four year old oven hob,” she says. Gina held her breath but alas gravity won and Stuart's boot ploughed through the hob with a resounding smash. “It did not stand a chance and cracked straight across. I really loved that cooker,” she says.
